As usual I am late responding on this, but the President is right. Americans need to crap or get off the pot. Specifically any American who is holding an office in Congress.
Let’s see, Democrats have sent a bill forward for the President to sign that basically funds the war “until a certain date”, then removes funding.
So, the Boss can sign it, and then must withdraw troops, or, he can veto it and there will be ZERO funding. So, essentially the Democrats have put out the word they DO NOT SUPPORT OUR TROOPS.
This nonsense about, “I support the troops, I just don’t support the war” is… well, it’s not nonsense, it’s utter blarney.
I support this war 100%. My TAXES are paid into the United States Infernal Revenue Service ever time I’m paid at work, that comes out to be two times a month. I pay somewhere on the order of 10,000 in taxes between my wife and I.
And Damn it, Congress, YOU WILL send MY money to the troops. Americans will not take this idiocy much longer. The President said, after 9-11, “You’re either with us, or you’re with the terrorists”. It is CLEAR now who most of Congress supports.
Teddy Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, John Murtha among many others have all voted to fund the war in the past, to support the war on terror. Now, folks, you’re screwing with the lives of Americans on a grander scale than just being idiots about funding the war.
You are screwing with my Son’s LIFE now. This war in Iraq needs to be completed and troops withdrawn eventually, WHEN THE JOB IS COMPLETED. NOT BEFORE.
Congress, you need to remember history. Vietnam was a disaster because Congress micromanaged things.
Now, do your job, send the President a bill he can actually sign that keeps our troops ALIVE, and WINNING — Not this sissy run-away crap you’re trying to make America do now.
CONGRESS WAKE UP!
